Ian Angus Crawford

Ian was a Civil Engineer who spent his working life in the water industry in Scotland helping to ensure a safe and reliable supply of clean water for all. He died in June 2022 at the age of 92. Friends and family made this donation in his memory.

A wonderful man. We always looked forward with excitement to seeing him again. He was always a refreshing pleasure to be around, and was my favourite person. I’m sad knowing I won’t see him again, but have his example to live up to. I remember his easy charm, as well as his Vorsprung durch Technik. His innate cool instilled calm and confidence in those fortunate to work or be around him, and when it was time to leave one always looked forward to meeting up once more. May we meet again.

Sheila was a monthly supporter of Wateraid since 1957 when she returned to Britain having been living in Ghana for a number of years with her husband Bill who was in the Colonial Service. They often had to visit remote territories and saw first hand the impact of a lack of clean water and sanitation. The collection at Sheila’s funeral on 13th April was dedicated to Wateraid and raised the sum of £200 in her memory for a cause so close to her heart.
